UFC

My career started in earnest with the UFC, on shows like Ultimate Insider, Road to the Octagon, Bad Blood, Countdown, and Embedded. I started as an assistant editor and worked my way up to lead editor — cutting dozens of features that aired weekly on Fox Sports and ESPN. This was an exciting time: Ronda Rousey at her peak, Conor McGregor just starting his run. Some favorites: Conor coming to NYC for the first time, his legendary win over Chad Mendes at UFC 189, and the promos for his fight with Khabib.

It culminated in a trip to Fight Island, this time as a camera operator. I spent the week following Michael Chandler — newly with the company, backup for the title fight. I was lucky enough to be in the building for Khabib Nurmagomedov’s final fight, and continued to work as an operator for various shoots for UFC Countdown. — CH
